one month and 4 days.. He weighs almost 10 pounds now and is 21 and 1/2 " long.. He gained over 4 lbs the first month and grew two inches. There is so much I would like to write about but there is no time..
I should be sleeping.. it's so hard to fit in enough sleep, so posting has be nearly impossible this week. Wes has been off to work most of the week, so it's a whole new thing getting used to. No sound naps in the other room while Wes watches the noisy sleeper Kai. Raising a newborn is hard work!! But I am up for the challenge and I love it.
Good thing for the Gluten free menu at PF Changs. I was able to eat some some substantial food last night and today (salmon and veggies with brown rice)
So about Sasha and Kai. Now Sasha, (stubborn dog as she can be) is refusing to go for walks without Kai. Luckily Kai has been good in the stroller and the carrier. I haven't made it on too many walks this week ( besides the brief lunch time trip to let Sasha go) but Wes has been taking him in the Ergo and the stroller. The Ergo is great. I just wish it would cool down here a little- it's a little hot for 76 degrees.
I think Sasha has a new life long companion, a new important job - a little person to always protect. I am so happy Sasha loves him and is not jealous. We are a happy little family- a happy little pack.
Ok going to try to catch some sleep- even though I know it won't happen. Soon little Kai will start making all those loud sounds..
The past few days I've gone for a 25 minute walk because I think it is important for me to get out of the house at least once a day, even though I am so tired and part of me rather sleep.
Yesterday we tried the stroller and it worked really well. He didn't sleep for the walk, like he does with the sling but he didn't fuss at all either.
I think today though I may skip the walk in favor of trying to get a little sleep, not sure yet though. It is good to get out.
Sasha has been really good with Kai, despite the rocky start we had. Now she always wants to see what he is up to and lie next to him. She is always excited to see him in the morning and does not like to be separated from in him in another room.
Yesterday I tried out the Ergo carrier with the infant insert and it worked great! I tried a sling a couple times but neither of us liked it. I was so happy this worked well, so we all decided to go see the ocean. It felt great to be outside and walking again, just a week after birth. The walk was very short, but we will work up to longer walks.
We have had to get out everyday this week- Tuesday we were at the Dr then the rest of the week they were putting up fences right outside, there was very loud drilling sounds and on top of that they had the water off two days! Talk about bad timing. Thankfully we were able to head over to Wes' parents. I am glad we have had to get out. Otherwise I would have felt too cooped up. It's good to know there is still a world out there.
