looking back..and forward..

Kai continues to amaze me.. growing at the speed of light..
In the last nine days he gained 13 oz and 3/4's of an inch.
Now he weighs 12.9 lbs ( probably even more now that was from a couple days ago)
and is 24 3/4"
It's hard to imagine that this babe:

Was this baby just two months ago:

Teenybabe

Newborn

I guess I am not too shocked at his growth when I consider how often he eats and still eats- Every two hours, even at night most of the time.
I was a little frustrated when I heard how other babies his age and younger sleep much longer.. 5, 6 or 7 hours at a time. I thought by now he would be sleeping longer. Usually he sleeps one time at night for three hours, but not always. Last night he did not. Once in a blue moon he will sleep 4 hours in a row. I realized that I just have to forget what other babies are doing to keep my sanity and stay positive. If there is one thing I learned from my pregnancy and labor it is that things never happen the textbook way with Kai and I..every baby is so individual. He is doing what he needs to do to grow and thrive and I know in time he will sleep more. As long as he is healthy and happy. This time will pass so fast.. I know that. Time to feed the babe...

Jill he is gorgeous! Isn't it CRAZY how fast they grow!?? :)

I will give you a little tip that I read on one of the baby information sites online. Basically it said to help babies with their day/night confusion you should let the sleep no longer than 2 to 2 1/2 hours in the daytime. I guess this helps to set their inner clocks. You are right though...nothing is textbook. lol Every baby is totally different. You are doing a fantastic job!

Glad to hear you are all doing so well!

Janet

Thanks for stopping by Janet!
If it were only that easy as your tip I would be overjoyed! Haha. Kai never takes a nap longer than two hours. He is just different than the average baby I am learning!
