I was thinking about the last post.. it is not that Kai is fussy.. He is not. Actually he is quite delightful and always smiling so so much. He is so aware of everything, loves to observe and has so much energy. It's this mama who is fussy..haha. It is so hard to get by on so little sleep, and I hardly ever nap.
It's just that Kai doesn't sleep! It seems like he doesn't need to sleep more than a two or three hour chunk of time at night. His day time naps have lately been about an hour. Luckily when he does wake up every two hours or so at night he feeds for a short time- less than ten minutes (he always feeds less than 10 minutes, although it is getting a little longer lately) then he falls fast asleep. Everyone tells me he will begin to sleep more sometime in the future, even though it seems like he never will!
It is funny, I have been going to breast feeding support groups and mommy and me class and the other mamas complain about their baby sleeping and then when asked how long the baby sleeps they say only 5 or only 7 hours a night! I am like oh man, I just pray for my baby to start sleeping 4 hours at a time!!
It is great to get out and go to the classes though. It's just good being around other mamas and getting out of the house. Kai seems to love going also.
He also loves his baths and is getting great head control.. as he can lift up his head now..
oh my, that is one seriously cute baby. :^)
i feel for you. my older son never. ever. slept. i kept checking my baby book and seeing "17 hrs / day" or whatever and then going back to look at him, as he stared calmly at me, wide awake, round the clock.
he wasn't fussy - he just never slept! well, he was fussy if you put him down and turned out the lights. ;^)
